How can I get a visa for Cambodia?
Cambodian visa can be obtained on arrival at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap International Airports. And also available at all the border crossing from Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The visa fee is USD30. Please take 2 passport sized photos for your visa application at border points. Travelers can also apply for Cambodian e-visa online. We can also help to arrange Thai, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar when you are traveling with us in Cambodia and you wish to extend or combine the trip to Vietnam. We normally need 2 to 5 working days to get your Vietnamese visa issued. To save your time applying tourist visa.

How much are the airport taxes?
Cambodia international airport tax is USD25 and USD6 for domestic airport tax. The airport taxes have to be paid in cash at the airport. Travelers who exit Cambodia by land border, do not require to pay for any departure tax. The airport tax is free of charge for children under 12 years old and transit passengers proceeding to onward destination within the same day and not leaving the transit lounge.

How old are the people on your trips?
This can be vary from tour to tour. We also mention in each tour details, that including the family trip as well, Generally, the age ranks from 14 to 68. Normally, people on our trips are from USA, Canada, England, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are sociable and they return to us and want to travel with us to some other parts of South East-Asia. Everybody is welcome on our tours and the mixture of ages and nationalities is one of the great things about our groups.
Do you offer tours to Southeast Asia?

What type of bikes do you use? Can we bring our own bike?
We use brand new Trek 4300-4500 year 2008-2010, Giant, Cannondale and GT, All our mountain bike is durable and suitable all kinds of road, especially in Cambodia. You can bring your own bike and it costs around USD150 to ship your bike to Cambodia.
Is it safe now to do trekking in Cambodia?
It is safe now to do trekking in Cambodia following our suggested itinerary. We have done the research on the trekking track. With our experienced trekking guide, we will assure the security and follow the safety guideline.
Travel Insurance
We recommend that all tourists travel to Cambodia should purchase travel insurance including evacuation. The good clinic to recommend in Siem Reap are Angkor International Hospital and Ly Sreyvyna. In Phnom Penh, SOS International clinic and Royal Rattanak Hospital. All our adventure tour guides are trained with first aid and we have first aid kit in the support van.
Do I need any vaccination before traveling to Thailand and Indochina?
Traveling to Cambodia, do not require any vaccination. But we recommend travelers to take malaria tablet, Tamiflue for Swine and Birds flues. Tami flue can purchase locally at USD32 per packet of 10 tablets.
What is the weather like in Cambodia?
Essentially Cambodia have three seasons. Winter: November to February is cool and dry. Hot Season: March to May. Rainy Season: June to October is cool and wet. The months of November, December and January are usually considered the best for tourists with lower temperatures and reduced humidity levels. April is generally the hottest month. The monsoons during June and October usually follow a pattern of clear mornings with a period of rain in the late afternoons. Normally the rain lasts for just 1-2 hours. So it still a good period of cycling. We recommend to start early around 07h00 and finish before it rains as our average cycling is around 70km a day.
How should I dress in Cambodia?
Cambodia experiences a tropical climate almost year round so lightweight clothing is best. In the cooler months warmer clothing may be required, especially during the evenings and in mountainous areas. Tourists should remember to dress modestly and remove their footwear and hat when entering places of religious significance such as Buddhist temple. Cambodiaare still a conservative countries in some area we recommend to have dress below knee such as Royal Palace, temples visiting or Pagoda or other holy sites please try to dress respectfully and avoid very short shorts/skirts and singlet’s. So, please bring some clothes in your bag-pack to cover the knees. You can leave your day back in our support van.
What languages are spoken in Cambodia?
The official language of Cambodia is Khmer. English is increasingly prevalent, especially amongst younger people in the cities, while French is also spoken by some. However, we recommend travelers to learn some basic phrases in Khmer. The kids always welcome you by shouting “hello” while cycling and trip start along the road. Most of our cycling and tour group find out that it is part of the enjoyable trip and feel people are so welcome, especially the kids.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU DURING DIRT BIKE TOUR?
You need to bring not more than two sets of cloth for a light bag with you. You can wash the cloth in the evening in the guesthouses. We provide motorbike gear for driving. If you have your own stuff, bring it with you, because sometimes our gear does not perfectly fit to your special size. Just ask us before!
WHERE DO WE SLEEP?
In the Remote or isolate village of Cambodia are no Deluxe hotel or Luxury Resort, or guesthouse, Normally we stay in very basic guesthouse or sometime we join with the local family ( homestay ). We always provide security service in area, while we reach in big town as Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Battambong or Sihanouk Ville or Kompong Cham etc…we will stay in hotels or proper guesthouse.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE?
Experience is always good, but our tours cater for everyone from the complete beginner to experienced enduro enthusiasts. If you visit our CUSTOM TOUR page and let us know what you are interested in, we can tailor make the perfect tour for you.We also have courses that offer training for people new to clutch driven bikes, and off-road riding techniques for those who have only ridden road bikes.
WHAT ABOUT MALARIA?
Malaria is a problem in Cambodia, and precautions should be taken especially if venturing into jungle regions, which you will be with us. Bring mosquito spray and take a course of anti-malarials if you feel it is necessary. However if you only plan to stay in Siem Reap for a day tour you will be fine. There is no Malaria in Siem reap or Phnom Penh
WHAT ABOUT SECURITY
We provide riding gear, including helmets, knee pads, boots, body armour, gloves and riding gear. This is limited to smaller groups though. However if you are a serious rider we recommend bringing your own riding gear as comfort is essential on the longer tours, especially with regards to helmets. We have tools, spare parts and first aid kits so you don’t need to worry about that. Unless you choose the support vehicle option, we recommend you travel light with a medium sized backpack, that has a hydration system CamelBak etc… This is essential as it gets very hot here especially when we’re in the rainforest. If you forget we have 3 litre ones for sale at the our shop. Some other items you may consider; sturdy footwear/riding boots, long-sleeved T-shirt or biking jersey, combat or biking pants, helmet, gloves, goggles, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, a bum-bag (fanny pack) for small items [camera etc], change of clothes for the evenings; shorts or light weight trousers,t-shirt or light weight top, a pair of flip-flops (thongs) for evenings, bandanna, scarf or dust mask to cover your mouth [especially during the dry season] ,spending money,$20 and a passport copy & photo for your visa on arrival, plastic bags or bag liner for clothes, money etc during the rainy season, torch, a photocopy of your travel insurance, small first aid kit
WHAT ABOUT SECURITY
Cambodia suffered a long period of civil unrest due to the Pol Pot Period and the entailing civil war. However the civil war ended over 17 years ago, and peace has come, but you will find dirt-biking here very different to other countries, and there are many reminders of the war all over the country. You will probably see Landmines signs on some of the routes we traverse. Each year we do research to find out about general security in the ares we visit and which roads are still safe in regards to mines, as mines do tend to shift in the monsoon. ADVENTURE LOOP only travels on well used trails that are known to be safe. In regards to general security Cambodia is safe and tourism thrives here. However like with any where in the world tourists are a target for petty crime and it is wise to remain vigilant.
WHAT SHALL I BRING WITH ME?
There are an estimated 5 million landmines still scattered around Cambodia, however most of them are along the border, but remain a risk everywhere. However we will be riding on well used trails and will avoid the high risk areas.

HOW SHOULD I CARRY MY STUFF?
If you are not taking a support vehicle we recommend you travel light with a medium sized backpack, that has a hydration system; 3 litres is more than enough to sort you out on the road, and there will be frequent places to top up. Make sure it has a rain cover to keep your belongings from getting wet and dirty. You don’t need to bring many clothes as there are places to do laundry on the way.
WHERE CAN I KEEP MY LUGGAGE?
If you decide to use the support vehicle option, then in the support vehicle. This way you will have clean clothes after those long days riding. You can also bring a change of riding gear, which is not a bad idea on longer tours. If you decide not to use the support vehicle, then you can keep your luggage at the kickstart office, or if the tour ends in another area of the country, we will send the bags ahead to your hotel.
IS THERE A SUPPORT VEHICLE?
For longer tours many groups like to get a support vehicle. This is good if there are any breakdowns, and we can bring a SPARE BIKE. There will also be room for all the spares we may need. You can leave all your personal belongings, clothes, laptops etc in the truck [nice after a long day on the trails]We also have space in the car for an esky so you can be sure of refreshments on the tour and nice cold beers at the end of the day!

We don’t provide health insurance or personal injury insurance. We strongly recommend that you get insurance that covers medivac and hospitalization. You will especially need to check with your insurance company about driving licences as some companies require local licenses, others require home licenses, and others will accept an international license. You will need to check the fine print of your insurance to make sure of their policy regarding engine size and licenses. Your policy must cover engines of 250cc and above.
WHAT ARE THE HOSPITAL LIKE?
The quality of healthcare is generally not good here, and although there are some good hospitals in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, hospitals in general are not desirable. For minor accidents there are a handful of clinics that can sort you out. Anything major it is recommended to get to Thailand asap. Hopefully it won’t come to that, but you must be prepared. It is essential to have good health insurance that will cover you in case of accident and emergency treatment/medevac .

WHAT SHOULD I BE AWARE OF CULTURALLY?
Cambodia is a very traditional culture. We have outlined some of the more important things to think about that will probably affect you on a trip with us. When visiting temples especially, shoulders and legs should be covered, and hats removed. If you are invited into someones home you should remove your shoes. As Cambodia is a Buddhist country you shouldn’t touch someones head as this is seen as a sacred part of the body., and is very rude. Likewise, you shouldn’t point your feet at people especially the elderly or statues/images of the Buddha, as the feet are considered the dirtiest part of the body. WHAT CURRENCY SHALL I BRING DURING MY TRIP TO CAMBODIA ?
In Cambodia you can use US Dollars as well as Cambodian Riel. However, we recommend you bring USD only; there is no point changing money beforehand. If you want some local currency then you can get us to change for you. There are many ATM’s that dispense US Dollars in all major towns and cities,but it is a good idea to have some riel for smaller items you may want to buy, but only change smaller amounts. General rule of thumb; if you are asked for dollars; pay in dollars, if you are asked for riel; pay in riel.
I AM A VEGETARIAN
Do not worry We will make sure that you get well fed. Cambodian food uses lots of vegetables, eggs and tofu as well. Traditionally there are lots of vegetable dishes in Cambodian food. Many meat dishes can be made with tofu instead.
WHERE WILL WE STAY?
Accommodation ranges from Boutique Hotels in the cities and comfortable hotels in provincial towns, to smaller guesthouses and home-stays in villages. there are also options for camping in the jungle with either hammocks or tents.
WHAT WILL WE EAT?
Food is not included in the tour price which gives you more freedom in what to choose. You may not always feel like eating what we provide every day! You will be eating mainly local Khmer food throughout the tour, and your guides will provide only the best Cambodia has to offer. There is no better way to be introduced to the local cuisine! In larger towns and cities there will be places where you can have western food if you wish, especially in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, where there is a large choice of good quality food……And don’t forget the fried spiders!! WHAT ABOUT THE RIDING CONDITION?
The great thing about riding here is the massive choice of terrain. From red graded roads to technical, rocky hill-climbs, we have it all. On most of the longer tours you will have sand, mud, technical hill-climbs, great single track and more. Again we consider your level when deciding what routes to take. Generally speaking though, Cambodia is a very flat country, which is covered in lots of sandy single track which winds through the rain-forest and dusty, red graded roads. This all turns to mud and bogs in the wet season…great fun! If you want more technical riding, we recommend our WESTERN TOURS through the Cardamon Mountains. WHEN THE BEST TIME TO COME?
The best time to come is November through to February, as the monsoon is over, but it is still relatively cool. The hot season starts at the end of March, the hottest month being April. However in recent years it has got hotter. This time of year it gets very dusty, which all adds to the Cambodian off-road experience, but the heat can be a bit much for some riders. The monsoon normally begins around June, but has been later in recent years. We can still do tours during the monsoon, but they are limited to certain parts of the country. If you don’t mind getting dirty and want more of a challenge this certainly a good time to come. The Cardamon Mountains [Western Tours] becomes impassable between August and November. After this though it does dry up enough to ride most trails. I certify that all instruction on the use of equipment has been made clear to me and I understand the function of the equipment.
I indemnify ADVENTURE LOOP ASIA, it’s officers, employees and agents from any action including negligence, related to these risks and dangers. I understand that third party insurance is not included in the tour, but is available as an extra. These terms shall serve as a release and assumption of risk for myself and anyone that accompanies me.
